The landscape design of this vacation home highlights existing natural features and updates the landscape to fit the owner’s needs and desires. A goal of this project was to retain the character of the mixed woods of cedar, maple, and hickory which dominated the foreground and enhance the focus and draw to Lake Champlain to the north. Distinctive Landscaping re-aligned the drive to accent views of trees, ledges, and Lake Champlain while approaching the house. Stone entry walls, a bluestone entry walk, and courtyard plantings created the new entrance. Mass plantings accentuate groves of trees and sweeping grass paths. The dog fence enclosure was designed to blend seamlessly within the naturalistic landscape.
